Gordon has recently been awarded the Ian Potter Cultural Trust Music Fellowship for 2009.

This will support the creation of new works for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra,
Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Bendigo Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Chamber Choir.
He will also complete the opera on which he is currently working with Louis Nowra.
