The current editions of Heysen Trail Maps indicate the location of camp sites and huts, and what permission must be sought for use of the accommodation. Huts are located on sections of the Heysen Trail; closure of the trail due to Fire Ban season and days of Broadcast Fire Ban also apply. Permission to use the trail does not in any way imply permission for overnight camping. A list of camping facilities close to the Heysen Trail can be purchased from the Friends of the Heysen Trail office.
For details of some of the Heysen Trail Huts, refer to the Heysen Trail... Trail Huts web page from the sidebar menu. Also refer the the Friends of the Heysen Trail web page at www.heysentrail.asn.au.
Note that camping fees apply in all National Parks and Wildlife Parks including Deep Creek, Mount Remarkable Dutchman's Stern, Flinders Ranges, etc. Camping fees (use of huts is considered camping) apply in all forest reserves, such as Kuitpo, Mount Crawford, Bundaleer, Wirrabara, etc. . There may be additional fees for use of huts such as Curnows Hut.
