An old ship originally designed to be a small intersystem courier
and transport, but became popular as a military ship. Although
it is underpowered and have no backup hyperdrive, it has an easily
modifiable hull. Military versions carries extra weapons or have
been altered to with extended troop capacity. It is now retired
from production, but it was sold in large enough quantities that
these small and reliable vessels are still a common sight. |

Patrol and attack ship. Originally designed for planetary law
enforcement and interdiction duty. Can easily be modified for
special purposes. Two-thirds of the ship's hull area was dedicated
to the engines, while accounts for its remarkable speed. It also
points out the ship's lack of popularity, as there was limited
cargo space. Over the years, these unique vessels have been seen
less and less, although some smugglers still use them. This ship
has become legendary due to the bounty hunter and Firespray pilot
Boba Fett. |

The YT-1930 has the same saucer as other YT ships, with the same
adaptable parts, but it differs from the earlier YT-1300 by placing
the cockpit in the centre. It also breaks from the saucer design
at the rear of the ship. Two large wedge-shaped cargo areas allow
the ship to carry twice the load of the YT-1300 without sacrificing
speed or durability. Most YT-1930s come with a single laser cannon
turret operated from a gun well, but most owners soon upgrade
to more powerful weaponry. |

Gallofree Medium Transport

Developed and manufactured by Gallofree Yards, this clamshell-hulled
craft was noted for its ability to carry virtually any type of
cargo. The upper and lower sections of the hull could be opened
independently, so that modular cargo crates could be loaded in
a variety of configurations. At ninety meters in length, the Gallofree
Medium Transport could accommodate up to 19,000 metric tons of
cargo. It required a crew of six to operate, and was originally
designed with quarters for up to forty passengers. In its basic
configuration, the Gallofree Medium Transport was armed with four
turret-mounted twin laser cannons, and was giving an enhanced
shielding package to handle the various cargo configurations. |

Star Pulse Medium Freighter

The Star Pulse freighter entered into the market shortly after
the YT-2400 appeared on the interstellar scene. Designed by Hyrotil,
it quietly took some of the Outer Rim freighter market. It's ease
of adaptability and modification allowed it to be used for a variety
of uses. Today, it is seen very commonly in the Outer Rim territories,
and making strides to enter the Mid Rim. |

Barloz Medium Freighter

This Corellian Engineering Corporation freighter measured 41 meters
in length, and could transport up to 120 metric tons of cargo.
The Barloz-class freighter was one of the most popular freighters
of the Old Republic, until CEC introduced the YT-series and ushered
in the modern era of freighter design. It was manned by a crew
of two, with one gunner and up to four passengers. It was armed
with single forward-firing laser cannon. Propulsion was provided
by the NovaQuad-D system, a precursor to the drives used on the
YT series. |

Starwind Class Pleasure Yacht
8700 or 8860 Credits
Perception Check: None |
|
This 50-meter-long personal pleasure starship was built by Kuat
Drive Yards. The Starwind-class ship borrowed design cues from
the Corellian Engineering Corporation's YT series, as it was originally
designed to compete directly with those ships. Later, the Starwind-class
was modified to challenge the Crescent-class luxury cruisers.
The ship resembled a flatten ovoid, with a pair of curving arms
embracing the central fuselage. It was manned by a crew of 5,
with two gunners, and could transport up to ten passengers. It
was unarmed in its basic configuration, but could be armed with
a pair of quad laser cannons, and had a fairly sophisticated shielding
combination. The Starwind-class ship's most unique feature was
its escape pod, which could be jettisoned while still in hyperspace.
The pod would immediately revert back to realspace. Once in realspace,
or if released in realspace to begin with, the pod could execute
a series of random hyperspace jumps which would bring the pod
to the nearest well-traveled route. |

VI Transport

CEC's Action series of transports is one of the smaller types
of bulk freighters; these ships carry only a fraction of the cargo
of other such freighters. As a result, Action transports are very
inexpensive, and can be found throughout the galaxy in the ownership
of private individuals and freelance traders. The Action V is
the most popular of the series; it is old enough that it is already
as widespread as its predecessors, but new enough that it has
not yet been rendered outdated. This ship can hold an astounding
90,000 metric tonnes of cargo for a mere three times the cost
of a Gallofree Medium Transport. They require a dedicated crew
of 10, and have no passenger facilities. It typically operates
in convoys or in well patrolled areas of space, being practically
helpless in a fight, so vulnerable that pirates call them "Inaction"
freighters. |
