Lightsaber Combat
1. When a
force user learns Lightsaber Combat I he or she has learned Form
I and will gain the Form I bonuses when engaging in lightsaber
combat.
2. When a
force user learns Lightsaber Combat II he or she chooses a
lightsaber combat form that reflects his or her own personal
philosophy. Read the bonuses of all forms closely before
choosing.
3. When a
force user becomes a master he or she may attempt to learn Form
VII. See details below.
4. A wielder
can choose to target a foe's weapon with a lightsaber instead of
attacking the person. A to hit check is done as normal and if
the ligtsaber hits successfully then there is a 50% chance the
opponent's weapon is destroyed. Does not affect armors, cortosis
weave weapons, or other lightsabers.
5.
Maximum lightsabers any one force user can have is either 2
single bladed lightsabers or 1 double bladed lightsaber.
6. Lightsabers
cannot be built and given away to other people. Only in extreme
cases are they available like the death of one wielder giving it
away to his apprentice.
7.
Deflection, the Force User
uses his/her lightsaber to send an energy bolt away off
harmlessly. The Character's melee is used against the attackers
range. Failure results in a hit. LSC Form -X% to be hit is added
to your chance of blocking. The number of opponents decreases
your chance of blocking. If there is more then 1 opponent, this
penalty is -5% * the number of opponents.
8. Reflection, the
Force User uses his/her lightsaber to use the opponent's own
energy bolt against them. The Character's range is used against
the attackers range. Failure results in the character being hit.
LSC Form +X% to hit is added to your chance of hitting your
opponent with the bolt. The number of opponents decreases your
chance of reflecting blaster energy bolts. If there is more then
1 opponent, this penalty is -5% * the number of opponents.

Form II:
Makashi "Way of the Ysalamir" or "Contention"
|
|
An
ancient form used for saber-to-saber duels. As it is not
practical in the era of the SW films, it is not taught in the
Jedi Order. Count Dooku uses this form, which defeated Obi-Wan
and Anakin and stood against Yoda. Darth Maul used this form to
defeat Qui-Gon. |

Form III: Soresu
"Way of the
Mynock" or "Resilience" |
|
The
most defensive form, reflects the philosophy of
non-offensiveness. Obi-Wan Kenobi uses this form in AOTC, such
as during the battle with Jango Fett. Masters of this form are
unbeatable, but they may have trouble overcoming their opponent. |

Form IV: Ataru
"Way of the
Hawk-Bat" or "Aggression" |
|
The most
acrobatic form, used by Qui-Gon Jinn, Yoda, and Obi-Wan (in TPM).
It is characterized by Force-assisted jumps and predictable,
flowing saber moves. Yoda is an ultimate master of Form IV,
using it to its fullest against Count Dooku. |

Form V: Djem So
"Way of the
Krayt Dragon" or "Preservence" |
|
A
form opposite to Form III, it stresses strength. It requires
intensity, and its goal is to overcome the opponent. Anakin
Skywalker (and Darth Vader) use this agressive form. While Form
III would deflect blaster fire away from the opponent, a Form V
user would deflect the bolt directly to the opponent. |

"Way of the
Rancor" or "Moderation"
|
|
A
combination of all the forms, it is known as the "Diplomat's
Form." Most Jedi use this form, but all the Form VI Jedi in the
Battle of Geonosis died.
Practitioners of Form VI receive +15% to learn force powers as
they spend less time studying lightsaber combat than
practitioners of the other forms. |

Form VII: Vaapad
"Way of the
Vornskr" or "Ferocity"
|
|
The ultimate
form, it requires mastery of all other forms and more intensity
than Form V. Although a Form VII user may seem calm on the
outside, he or she is very powerful inside. Mace Windu uses this
form. |
A
Jedi must accomplish a Heroic 350 melee combat check and a
heroic (350) force power check in an RP to master this combat
technique before he will be able to use it. Also he must be at
least of master level to transfer into this technique. Only 1
attempt can be made for each check.
