BIOGRAPHY Born into a working class family in Sydney’s outer metropolitan suburbs as the youngest of four siblings, his parents dedicated their time between working; to provide a stable home environment as well as providing the best they possibly could for Anthony and his siblings. Time between work and home was divided equally with a tendency of spending more time away from work whenever possible. His parents would always encourage and support their children in all their pursuits and decisions. At the age of 21, he married his sweetheart in a small and secret ceremony. He remains happily married today and currently does not have any children. Anthony started his schooling career in the public school's system and finished his career under the same system, which saw many changes. Anthony graduated high school in 1995, earning his HSC. From his experiences during his final two years in high school, he decided against university and took the opportunity to enter the workforce early and experience the realities of life. It was not until 2002 when Anthony decided to further his job prospects and education. He enrolled in a trade certificate course offered to him by a private educational institute which he graduated ahead of schedule. Since beginning his working career in the late 90's, Anthony has been under constant employment whether in the fields of voluntary or paid employment. Throughout his working career to-date, he has worked as a store person, despatch clerk, printer, graphic designer and web master. Currently, Anthony has two lines of active employment. Early 1999 saw Anthony develop a fully independent and voluntary poetry organisation that is featured online. Anthony lends his experiences without prejudice or cost. The organisation allows poet's to share and express their works freely and without burden associated with magazines, journals and other publications. He endeavours unyieldingly to keep in the background and is not one for self-promotion. Anthony's poetry has yet to be greeted with the esteem, the recognition and the exposure that it thoroughly deserves, though his personal website enables visitors to read and listen to selected works on a much wider scale. While most of his poetry is featured around global issues, an equal share of his work is derived from personal experiences. His poems are viewed as containing an in-depth commentary as well as being thought provoking, enlightening and challenging to the reader. Anthony believes that expressing his emotions through his works is not only a benefit to him, although a benefit for others, allowing them to relate to his experiences on one level or another. Though his works have appeared in various countries and various forms of print from journals and e-zines to magazines and anthologies, his works have yet to appear in an Australian based publication. Even though his collective works have yet to appear on the Australian market, they have appeared in the United Kingdom and selected European countries with the release of his first book Plastic Money - Poems by Anthony S., which was first published in London (1998). From this success, Anthony has released his second book a self-published title appropriately titled Expressions. Expressions was released in late 2000 and was entirely produced by Anthony. The book features more of Anthony's modern pieces as well as a splash of some older pieces. Expressions is still in circulation and can be purchased through his website. Anthony continues to circulate his manuscript in a belief that he can once again break into the market as he did with his first book Plastic Money. Currently, Anthony is in a self-imposed hiatus from poetry, enabling him to focus on other writing projects as well as pursuing another passion, photography. Hopefully, we will see a third book from Anthony in one form or another.
